Kalsum A Choudhry's Bio
Writing Journey
Since childhood, Kalsum A. Choudhry has been passionate about architectural designing. She designed her own house with collaboration of architect & builder. She also enjoys crafting meaningful stories and painting wall murals. Although encouraged by her loved ones to pursue writing professionally, her heart was set on completing her degree in architectural design. As a busy mother of four, writing was often at the bottom of her to-do list.
The sudden passing of her son, who always encouraged her to write stories for young kids, was a wake-up call for Kalsum. She never imagined that she would be writing in memory of her late son, let alone fulfilling his wish. She hopes that her inspiring, uplifting, and encouraging words will become a light in the dark for someone.
Kalsum's commitment to crafting stories that resonate with young minds has been recognized with several prestigious awards. Her literary contributions have earned her the Nautilus Book Award, which honors books that promote spiritual growth, conscious living, and positive social change. She also received the International Impact Book Award, recognizing her influence on global perspectives in children's literature, and the Purple Dragonfly Book Award, which celebrates excellence in children's books that appeal to the joys of childhood and inspire the imagination.
These accolades not only highlight her creativity and skill as an author but also underscore her dedication to creating impactful children's literature that educates, inspires, and entertains. Through her books, Kalsum aims to ignite young imaginations and foster a deeper understanding of the world, making a lasting impact on her readers.
Kalsum enjoys endless intellectual conversations with her siblings, kids, parents, and friends. A South Asian/Pakistani descendant, she has been living in the Midwest region of the United States for 32 years, strongly respecting and loving her ethnic roots and religion, occasionally wearing her cultural dresses.
She keeps herself busy with various charity projects and considers her book a project to help people in need emotionally and economically. Kalsum loves to travel and explore different countries, cultures, and cuisines. She is also an excellent cook who entertains family and friends with her home-cooked meals. Gardening, sewing, and dress designing are her other hobbies. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and reading fictional books.
